古代エジプトで再生や復活・不死といった意味を持ち、崇拝されてきたスカラベ（コガネムシ）。1922年、ツタンカーメン王の墓が発見されたことにより、エジプトの様々な意匠がアール・デコのムーブメントに大きな影響を与えました。こちらは、赤いガラスにゴールドのペイントを施した、スカラベのブローチ。どこか記号的な印象を与える、シンプルでシンメトリーなデザインに、当時の流行が色濃く出ています。ガラスの艷やかな質感も美しく、差し色としてアクセントになってくれる一点です。
